Jawline and chin
Time45 min
SessionsOne visit, a touch-up at 2 weeks if needed
DowntimeSwelling and possible bruise for a few days
ResultsInstant, settled at 2 weeks

Good for

  • A soft or round jawline
  • A chin that sits back
  • Early jowls that blur the line
  • Asymmetry between the two sides
How it works+

Firm fillers such as Juvederm Volux and Restylane Defyne or Lyft are placed along the bone to sharpen the angle of the jaw and bring a chin forward. Two to four syringes is typical for a full jawline. For a chin, one to two.

What it feels like+

Numbing cream, then pressure along the bone. Most people find it easier than lips.

Afterward+

Swelling for a few days, a bruise is possible. No pressure on the area, so sleep on your back the first night.

Not for you if+
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Allergy to lidocaine or severe allergy history
  • Active infection in the area
  • Loose skin that needs lifting rather than filling, which Sydney will tell you

Sydney goes through this with you before anything starts.

Pairs well with+

Morpheus8 for the skin over the jaw. Wrinkle relaxer for a clenched masseter. A conversation with Dr. Chopra when the cause is descent, not volume.

Filler or Morpheus8 for my jawline?+

Filler adds structure. Morpheus8 tightens skin. If both are true, they can be combined, weeks apart. If the deeper layer has dropped, neither does the job, and Sydney will say so.

How long does jawline filler last?+

Clinics generally quote twelve to eighteen months for the firm products used here.

How many syringes?+

Two to four for a full jawline, one to two for a chin. You see the plan and the amount before anything starts.
