Good for
- Dark, hollow under eyes
- Crepey eyelids
- Thinning hair and a widening part
- Dull skin and acne scars, applied after SkinPen or Morpheus8
How it works+
PRP is liquid and fast, most studied for thinning hair. PRF is spun slower with nothing added, so it forms a gel that releases growth factors for longer, which suits the under eyes and a natural fill. Both use nothing but your own blood.
What it feels like+
A normal blood draw, a ten minute spin, numbing cream, then small stings. Under the eyes a cannula is used.
Afterward+
Swelling and a possible bruise for a few days, up to a week under the eyes. The scalp is tender for a day. No hair washing for 24 hours.
Not for you if+
- Low platelets or a blood disorder
- Blood thinners without a plan
- Active cancer or a blood cancer history
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- Active infection at the site
Sydney goes through this with you before anything starts.
Pairs well with+
SkinPen or Morpheus8, applied on top right after. Minoxidil for hair.
PRP or PRF, which is better for hair?+
PRP has the most research behind it for hair. Three monthly sessions, then maintenance every three to six months.
How many sessions for under eyes?+
Typically three, four to six weeks apart, then a refresh around a year.
Does it hurt?+
The draw is a normal blood draw. The injections sting briefly under numbing cream.
