Good for
- Hollow cheeks and temples
- A face that looks deflated after weight loss
- Deep smile lines and marionette lines
- Thin, crepey skin on the face
How it works+
Poly-L-lactic acid, the material in dissolvable stitches, is placed under the skin in small amounts. Over weeks the body builds collagen around it. It is the usual answer for a face that looks deflated after weight loss.
What it feels like+
Lidocaine is mixed in. Pressure and a sting, then a few days of massage at home: five minutes, five times a day, for five days.
Afterward+
Looks fuller for a day from the water, then fades, then the real result builds over six to twelve weeks.
Not for you if+
- Pregnancy or breastfeeding
- A history of keloid scars
- Active sores, cysts or infection at the site
- Immune suppressing medication
- The lips or the area around the eyes, where it is never used
Sydney goes through this with you before anything starts.
Pairs well with+
Hyaluronic acid filler for the lips and under eyes. Morpheus8 or UltraClear two to four weeks apart.
Sculptra or filler?+
Filler is instant shape. Sculptra is gradual volume that your own collagen provides. Many plans use both, in different sessions.
How long does Sculptra take to work?+
First change at about a month, full result at three to six months after the last session.
Can it cause lumps?+
Small bumps are possible, which is why the massage routine matters and why it is placed in areas with enough tissue.
